A lender-neutral education hub built to help Veterans, service members, and real estate professionals understand the VA home loan benefit.

The VA Loan Learning Center was created to fill a gap in the market: clear, trustworthy, lender-neutral education about VA home loans. Too much information online is either overly promotional, outdated, or written by lenders trying to generate leads.

Our goal is to help Veterans, active-duty service members, surviving spouses, and real estate professionals understand how VA loans really work — before they ever talk to a lender, bank, broker, or agent. Knowledge is power, and we believe that informed borrowers make better decisions.

This website does not offer loans, rates, or approvals. We are not a lender, bank, broker, or mortgage company. We do not collect loan applications, and we do not receive compensation from lenders for referrals.

Our content is written in plain English, sourced from official VA guidelines, and designed to be practical and actionable. We cite official VA resources whenever possible and encourage you to verify current guidelines directly with the Department of Veterans Affairs or a qualified professional.

This website is for educational purposes only and is not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. VA loans are made by private lenders and guaranteed by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Guidelines, lender overlays, and eligibility rules can change. The information on this site is based on publicly available VA guidelines at the time of publication and is not legal, financial, or tax advice.

Always verify current guidelines with official VA resources and consult with qualified professionals — such as a VA-approved lender, real estate attorney, or financial advisor — before making any financial or legal decisions.

Start with VA Loan 101 if you are new to the program. Check your eligibility and learn about the COE on the Eligibility & COE page. If you are ready to buy, read the Buying Guide for a step-by-step walkthrough.

Browse the FAQ for quick answers, or visit the Glossary if you encounter unfamiliar terms. Real estate agents should head to the Agent Resource Center for practical training and checklists.

Have questions about qualifying? We will connect you with a veteran advisor licensed in your state.

We have received your request. A veteran advisor will reach out to you shortly.

By submitting, you agree to be contacted by a veteran advisor. This is not a loan application.
